Couple set to call Crusaders home for 2024

2023's Championship North Top Try Scorer, Jess and 2023's 'A Team' Captain Wyatt have opted to extend their stay with the Crusaders for a further season.

The duo who first joined the Crusaders ahead of the 2022 season following a joint training session with Cheshire Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball team, to which both players were members of.

Jess who had a stand-out season, a hat-trick in each of the teams Championship North fixtures, managed 50 points in 17 appearances, including making their first team debut against Bradford Bull in the Championship Semi-Final back in October. 

Wyatt who was named captain of the Crusaders 'A' team ahead of the 2023 season managed to make 18 appearances in all competitions last season, including two appearances for the first team in the Championship.

Jones, who first started his career in the running game system in Wrexham opened up in early 2023 about his time playing the running game and as the only transgender Wheelchair Rugby League player in Wales. This interview can be found here.
