PLAYER BIO

Joining Crusaders as a player ahead of the 2019 season following being a constant at Crusaders games as a volunteer throughout 2018.

Known for her humour and bubbly disposition both on and off the pitch, Matthews has been a constant name on the Crusaders ‘A’ team sheets since joining as a player, managing a score her sole Crusaders try at the 2019 Peacock Cup.

She was extremely highlighted for her voluntary commitment in the 2022 season where she attended and volunteered at all Crusaders games whilst heavily pregnant, Matthews who has claimed a number of awards throughout her time at the club.

The 2024 season will see Hayley sponsored by, JETS Jones, a fundraiser set up by former Crusaders Team Manager, Sophie Jones in aid of Hope House Children's Hospice in memory of her son, Thomas Jones who tragically passed away in 2018.
