Joining the Crusaders as a founding member back in 2013, Jones was soon a key player in the clubs debut season and became a constant name on the team sheet in the clubs early years.

Joining the Crusaders after being invited to the clubs launch due to being the chair of the 'running club' Wrexham Bradley Raiders and was soon to become the clubs third ever player.

Known for his power and height whilst playing, Jones was able to lineup with his son, Harry over the passed 11 years which included Stephen assisting Harry's first-ever try against Bradford Bulls in 2013 and Harry assisting Stephen's first ever try in 2014.

Though he has stepped back from playing to concentrate on the off-field work of the Crusaders, Jones still dons a playing jersey as and when needed and is one of only two players to play in every season since the clubs inception.
